I greet you from Yosemite

Autumn Light in a snow covered Yosemite West forest is simply beautiful in its simplicity this morning. Seeing things in a new light….the autumn light….since taking the Yosemite Conservancy photography workshop with Keith Walklet….is enlightening. I have been looking at this scene in the forest for years…..and only this morning felt inspired to take this photo. It all about the light.
Walk with your feet to find the right angle for your shot. …………catch the light….catch the joy of photography…..in Yosemite!!! We wonder…..when the light falls so perfectly on our subject…and….on us. It was one of those things….you just know you have to go back and take the picture…….even if your iPod has frozen. It has locked up. It did not respond when I would slide the screen where it says, “slide here to unlock.” I put my ipod to rest. I wiped off the drops of water falling from the trees…as the snow melts.
After I wait a few minutes, I turn on the ipod and am happy to see the apple appear on the screen! I go back and take the shot….hoping the light will be just right. YES…..shadows and shapes….shadows of the incense cedars…shapes of the dogwood leaves….colors of the dogwood leaves…..and…the simplicity of the young dogwood tree enjoying the autumn snow…..looking so pretty.
