Lodging in the park is operated by a monopoly: the Yosemite Concession Services Corporation. In Yosemite Valley, rates range from $48.00 @ night for a basic tent cabin with nearby bathroom to well over $300 @ night for a room at the Ahwahnee. Reservations can be made up to one year and one day in advance by calling (559) 252-4848. Accommodations in the park are oftimes booked months ahead of time. Unless you’ve made prior reservations, your chances of finding available rooms/tent cabins in the park during your visit are not good.
Yosemite Concession Services Corporation also operates dormitory-style tent cabins in Yosemite’s High Country. Because of their elevation, these are only available in the summer or early autumn months. Applications must be made between October 15 & November 30th via a lottery! For more info: (559) 253-5674.
If you prefer not paying inflated prices…
If you don’t feel like “winning a lottery” to qualify…
If you would rather not have to make reservations many months in advance…
May we suggest a variety of hotels, motels, cabins & homes available outside Yosemite Concession Services Corporation’s monopoly. Some of these accommodations or 45 minutes for less from Yosemite Valley. If you’re planning to spend some of your vacation time visiting historic Gold Country, these selected accommodations may actually be more convenient…as well as considerably less expensive.
